AGapE
The AGapE project, supported by the Fondazione Con il Sud intends, over a period of 30 months, to test and systemise, in the provinces of Bari and BAT and then in the entire regional territory, a model of integrated care of persons affected by gambling disorders, through the development of an innovative approach to their treatment.
- Preventing and combating the spread of gambling addictions by favouring the strengthening of integrated systems of social and health services, through the experimentation of an intervention model that takes into account both the characteristics and specificities of the Services involved and the characteristics of the GAP users, proposing system activities and institutional capacity building, prevention, training and information in proximity places and offering support and therapy spaces
- Supporting interventions to improve access to social and health care services and to foster the experimentation of methodologies for taking charge of and treating new addictions
- Strengthen existing territorial services and centres also by reinforcing networking with services in the territory with a better quality of relations in the already existing networks
- Improving the skills and competences of both the population (to avoid involvement in addiction risk behaviour) and the operators involved in various capacities
- Raising public awareness of the problem of gap addiction
- Increasing the participation of local communities
- Set up a mobile intervention unit for activities to prevent and combat the risk of new addictions in sensitive places
- Activate ten "listening antennas" in the municipalities to "hook up" individuals with gambling-related problems
- Set up a multidisciplinary territorial team to guarantee integrated social and health care support
- Experimenting with an intensive therapeutic programme to intervene on cognitive distortions and curb compulsive behaviour, also through individual and group psychotherapy activities and family counselling interventions for conflict management, to be carried out at the C.T. Casa Don Tonino Bello in Ruvo di Puglia (financing is also provided for the restructuring aimed at allocating specific places in the facility to the GAP module)
- Carrying out a school prevention and education, awareness-raising pathway aimed at citizenship for the construction of conscious attitudes on the dangers of gambling and addictions without substances in order to enhance the protective factors and reduce the risk factors
- Carrying out a training course for operators dealing in various capacities with gambling addictions
- Carrying out the mapping of gambling supply
