Puglia Cancer Registry
The website Tumour Registry Puglia is an information tool on the cancer registration status of the population living in Puglia.
Through the site it is possible to consult provincial and regional reports on the cancer registration status of the Apulian population, as well as age-specific and site-specific cancer reports.
The report on childhood tumours is currently being published, which will provide a glimpse of some tumour pathologies typical of the young age group (0-19).
The site will be updated periodically based on the availability of the collected incidence data.
The Puglia Tumour Registry (RTP, Registro Tumori Puglia) was established with DGR no. 1500 of 2008, providing for regional coverage; with DGR no. 2040 of 13 December 2016, the Regional Government established an organisation with an RTP Coordination Centre based at the Regional Agency for Health and Social Affairs (AReSS), which manages the feeding and control of the single regional database, and six peripheral sections at the offices of the Apulian ASLs, which are responsible for coding cases in the territory.
Standardised and homogeneous rules in line with the reference documents of international reference bodies such as the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR) are used for the registration and coding of cases. Registration procedures are also in line with national recommendations prepared by the Italian Association of Cancer Registries (AIRTum).
